About Me
I graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in 2012 with a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I’m licensed in both Idaho and Oregon, and nationally certified by the NCCAOM.
Post-graduation, I traveled to Nepal where I volunteered for two months at a high-volume clinic in a rural village outside Kathmandu, Nepal where I rapidly gained experience with a remarkably varied array of conditions. It was an incredible opportunity, fresh out of grad school, to witness the efficacy of acupuncture with so many different patients.
I’m dedicated to continually deepening my skills as a practitioner through ongoing continuing education. My post-graduate studies in East Asian Medicine include Kiiko Matsumoto-style acupuncture, Aroma Acupoint Therapy with essential oils, Sotai structural therapy, and BodyIntuitive energy medicine. Additionally, I’ve completed a 1,600- hour Alexander Technique teacher training program and am certified to teach through AmSAT (America Society for the Alexander Technique).
As an outdoor enthusiast, I often spend my downtime traveling or exploring the outdoors. My deep love of the wilderness is reflected in my Chinese Medicine training and Daoist spiritual practice which view humans as inseparable from the natural world. To keep things balanced, I’m just as content spending time at home—cooking, gardening, or getting lost in a good book.
I believe that everyone is entitled to high quality healthcare and it’s my commitment to provide this to each of my patients. By viewing patients through the lens of East Asian Medicine I’m able to tailor my treatments to meet the unique needs of each individual. I take the time to compassionately engage with each person and listen deeply to their health concerns and what is going on in their daily lives. My treatment style is hands-on in which I gather diagnostic information by palpating the abdomen (hara), acupuncture channels (meridians), and interpreting the pulse. This allows me to treat from a holistic, patient-focused approach rather than simply treating the symptoms.
I practice a gentle style of acupuncture that prioritizes the comfort of the patient and my treatments often include acupuncture, essential oils, bodywork, moxibustion, and cupping. I also use Chinese herbal medicine to help address both acute and long-standing health concerns.
